Hi All,
I am trying to get a bunch of people to meet up at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) to see "William Eggleston: Democratic CameraPhotographs and Video, 19612008".
The plan is Thursday January 13 at 1pm.
I saw the show when I was in L.A. in November. Highly recommended, not only because it's Eggleston, but because its a chance to see an extensive body of dye-transfer prints up close from when the process was in regular use.
This is a great great show; if you have any chance to see it--you should go. It's a huge show, so I'd budget plenty of time if you don't want to rush through. I saw it at the Corcoran in DC and was really wowed.
Last December I saw the show and it was awesome. Beautiful dye transfer prints. There's a showing of movies that he shot and a big screen tv showing him and a friend shooting on location. The video also shows the making of his dye transfer prints. If any APUGer that can make it, definitely go. Also if you're a Foodie, there's also a line of those food trucks that offer delicious fare waiting for you on Wilshire Blvd.
