I'd like to hear what your thoughts are on the comparison of these two sheet films. Do you find one to have more grain than the other? I'm using Rodinal as my main developer for the acutance. My only other option is D-76, which I haven't tried.

Thanks!

Dorothy

I shoot Efke 25 in 5x4 & 10x8 and use it at 50 ISO in Pyrocat HD, I've also tested and been using Fomapan 1oo and find I need to shoot at 50 ISO to achieve similar tonality.

Foma films need far less development compared to all the other films I use, approx 2/3rd. My dev times are typically around 15mins @20C for FP4/HP5/Tmax 100 &400/Efke 25/Fortepan 200, while for Fomapan 100 and 200 onlyn 10 mins, all in Pyrocat HD at 1+1+100

Thanks Ian,
My developing is usually stand @ 1:100 for an hour. I usually pull the film to EI50. But my developing results aren't very consistent which could also be my lack of metering skills. I usually rely on dumb luck. (Usually either over or underexposed.)

Hey Dorothy,
Well, you know @4x5 grain isn't really an issue, but I'm partial to the Efke. In fact, I've a box of Efke 25 4x5 that I've only loaded a few sheets of, and prefer over Fomapan 100. Rodinal 1:50 equals out for my Yankee 4x5 tank, and Patterson 3-roll 120/5-roll 35 tank.

I sure miss having a scanner, but that's on the back burner for now. Dealing with the new Mamiya 645 Pro and 2 new guitars (Gretsch & Les Paul).
