I'm a bit confused about exposing Efke positive paper. Does more exposure make it darker, or lighter, or is there an inversion point (I bring up the latter because some things I've read on APUG seem to indicate it may be the case)?

I ask because a couple of early tests seem to give me conflicting results. The starkest illustration: A light amount of exposure with a coin on the paper gave me white in the area that did not receive light, and gray in the area that did. Which clearly suggests that exposed areas go dark. But a sheet exposed to full daylight (fogged) developed white. Which suggests the opposite.

Also, I dropped my iPod Touch in ilford rapid fixer while running tests. anyone have advice on that?

As for the iPod, let it dry completely before turning it on to see if it's okay. I had to do that after I WASHED and DRIED one of the kids' iPods. They don't empty pockets and I forget to check.

Put the iPod in a zip lock bag with rice. The rice will act as a desiccant pulling the moisture out of the iPod.

Thanks for the advice about the iPod. I know about the moisture removal best practices, I wonder if there's anything in fixer that is "special" in that context. We'll find out!

Besides the fact that it will disolve silver and the acid will eat away at most metals, no nothing "special". I hope you've rinsed it several times in fresh water, espically if the fixer reached the inside.

That much I figured, and so yeah. It was in the fixer for about 1.5 seconds, after which I ran it through fresh water a few times at about 3 seconds each. Thankfully it was turned off when I dropped it, and I've left it turned off.
