Whilst looking on the Freestyle photo website I found THIS which purports to be Efke KB 400. I have never heard of this speed of Efke film before and am wondering if it is simply something like HP5+ repackaged or whether it is a new film that has slipped in under the radar?
P.S. where do you get your supplies of Efke paper from? I ask this because you have mentioned in the past that one of your favourite papers is Efke Emaks K888 (?) and I am interested in trying some of their paper.
I'm sceptical about that. After Ilford/Harmon Technologies reorganized, there was some news that the newly formed company would no longer supply materials for re-packaging. If this film is indeed HP5+, and I doubt that it is, then it must be at best short dated by now. If Simon is around, I'm sure he could shed some light on this.

I was sceptical as well, but I looked up times on the massive development chart for HP5+ and ID11 and got the same times that are listed at the bottom of their product description. I guess it could be a coincidence, but it makes me suspicious. I also wonder if it isn't short dated film.
I imagine it would be another of the eastern European films, as are Forte and Foma (those are very different films, I know, and I don't mean to lump all such into one type). Fotokemika might be a third type amongst the others, but I don't use Efke film so I can't say. I don't believe it would be HP5+.
BTW, I develop Fomapan 400 just like I do HP5+ with results I am very happy with.
I just had a look at my HP5 negatives and compared them to my Adox CHM and KB400 negatives. IMO they appear to be identical, also when looking at the colour of the non-developed film. See also this thread regarding the (there was a url link here which no longer exists). Whatever it is in that Adox or Efke canister, it sure can deliver great results!
As far as I know, Ilford doesn't make plain old HP5 anymore.
If they did still make the old non-Plus films, I'd sure want to play with them. Back when they were all that was available from Ilford, I used them and liked them a lot, but my level of photographic sophistication definitely wasn't there.
