I'll be heading to Europe (Germany) later this year, and am planning on stopping by the Fotokemika factory in Croatia to purchase some papers not sold here, and lots of film from their factory-direct store.

Their website doesn't have an active link for contacting them, like it previously did. Does anyone here know the e-mail address for contacting them?

I don't know anything about fotokemika factory in Germany. But if Zagreb (Croatia) is on your way through Europe, let me know it and I'll send you a contact. At least a phone number.

I have done a lot of search on this subject, having in mind to visit the factory (I live in Bulgaria, Samobor is not so far away), but till now I didn't found so far a spare time to do so. This is all I have found:

When you want to buy efke (ADOX) material you can buy thtat from fotoimpex in Berlin. www.fotoimpex.de. I think they have an US address too.

@6x6x9: I see you are in Zagreb. Would be nice to say hello while I am there. Perhaps you could show some interesting places to photograph. I will be staying in Germany, and only in Croatia for the day.

@Jed: Yes, I know Mirko, and I could actually buy the films cheaper here in the States, than from him there via Freestyle in California. Also, I do not want to risk X-ray damage by bringing the films from the U.S.

I regularly by Fotokemika stuff in factory store. Most of the times it looks like "so, what do you have on the shelf?".

Fotokemika currently have 22 employs and almost all they produce is for export. You might find more at Fotoimpex (or elsewhere) than here.

Thanks very much for the input, Zvonimir. I have indeed received a reply from them, stating that it would be possible for me to purchase directly from them (same as you do I assume).

I'll be buying film for using while in Europe, + additional films to send back home for use here. Also various papers they produce, which are not available here (such as crystal-surface Varycon) also in European sizes which again are not available here.

Thanks for letting me know your experiences in shopping direct from them. By the way, what is the current price for the films if purchased directly from the factory?

Well Hervé, sorry to disappoint you, but I've already gotten the OK directly from them. Just need to make sure they have what I need once I get there.

Anyone is free to purchase from them as long as you go to them in person. I'm not doing it for resale, it's all for me to use while in Europe.

That's correct. I will be using their films while in Europe, making photographs, and some I will ship home myself. I am only buying supplies directly from them.
