Efke 100 + ACU-1

I shot some 12x20 Efke PL100 this past weekend, and was going to give ACU-1 a try tonight. Anybody got any experience? Based on search readings, I was going to try 1:10 at 10 min. and 70F, tray developed.

The scene is a landscape, with cloudy sunset on top and shady field below. I developed a couple of sheets in D-76 1:1, 11 min @ 68F., and the shadows were pretty thin. I metered at 100.

I'll take any suggestions you might have. Thanks.

Well, there's an experiment that didn't work out. Sky was good, but shadows were much thinner than the D-76.

Thoughts for next time: lower ISO rating and a brand new graduated neutral density filter. Probably go back to the D-76, unless somebody tells me 10 minutes was too short.

OK, I guess, based on the lack of responses, that nobody else does what I do :confused: Not surprising.

Just for those reading this to learn from the mistakes of others, another sheet developed in ACU-1 1:5 at 70F for 10 min yielded a negative that looks printable - some detail in the shadows and the highlights don't look all blocked up. Nothing beats starting out with the correct exposure, though.

ACU-1 is a speed enhanced developer and Efke films do not like to be over-exposed at all.
So I would try an E.I. of 160-200 and go for 12-13 minutes developing (1+5) time. Somewhere I have information about this but I have to look it up. It could also be Efke 25 and ACU-1. BTW in 35mm and 120 roll film format.
