Hey all, this is my first post here! So I recently got this developer for the high contrast I want for some negatives, but the table on the bottle says at 70 degrees the developing time will be 150 seconds, this seems very short to me. Especially since with higher contrast I’ve generally followed the rule that I should underexpose and overdevelop. I don’t have a huge amount of experience in the darkroom tho, only a little bit. Does 150 seconds at 70 sound very short to anyone else?

Litho developer is likely made for lith film, which tends to be a thin emulsion that develops very quickly, almost like paper does. You might be able to use this developer for lith printing type purposes, but otherwise it's only useful if your goal is half-tone style images (ie, black and white with no greys)

I figured that about the film haha but even so that seems very short to me. I do have a few litho rolls that need developing but I figured the developer would work for more normal b and white 35mm. I thought I would just increase developing time for common panchromatic film like ilford 50 125 and 400 speeds and Kodak tmax and Tri x. Is that a bad idea?

Just to be clear tho extremely high contrast like pure black and white is what I’m expecting from the developer

Completely unsure, you don't see this kind of developer used often for it. I'd try it with a test strip. Worst case is you might get some fog
