Educate me on Tri-X in D76?

Hello;
Unlike others here I use D-76 with a replenisher and use the stock solution. Measure out the correct amount to fill the S/S developing tank, add the correct amount of replenisher into the gallon jug. When done developing the film, simply return to jug. I feel that D-76 replenished is like a fine wine and gets better with age. Steven.

Things are looking good.

Apart from my personal fail (developing a roll with only three shots on it that I had taken from a camera and put in with the wrong crowd...) the developed film look good so far.

Used the times that were listed on the bag (those applied for 400-800, it said) and used fresh fixer. Hypoclear seemed past its time, it had slimy things in it but I only saw that when I had dunked the first of two films into it and it seemed to work so I gave the other film the same soak and discarded the hypoclear afterwards.

Films drying in the shower, should be able to scan some shots later tonight. Now let's see if there's anything worthwhile in them...

I mix stock solution D76 (see pkg directions) 1:1 with water and develop 10 minutes at 20 deg Centigrade, then discard it. But that's for Tri-x at 400 ISO. I don't push-process, so don't know the time for 800. Check out the Massive Development Chart for that.

At the moment there's only seven, eight shots in there, but I will upload more in the coming week when I'm done developing and scanning them.

All shots mostly 'au naturel' but I've suffered some ugly water stains. The water here is full of calcium and it seems Tri-X is suffering more from that than my usual RolleiRetro400S. Guess I'll need a bottle of demineralised water for that final rinse, Foto-Flo alone does not cut it with this combo.

There's lots more shots in the Flickr set but those were all shot on cheap Schlecker 200 film.

You got the eye, man!

I use a spray bottle with distilled water and photo-flo to get rid of calcium, spraying the film just after hanging it to dry. Works fine for me.

Thanks, Jerevan! Both for the compliment and the tip, that sounds real effective and about as easy as it can be! Tomorrow I'll head out and pick up a spray bottle and distilled water.
