Cost may be steep but the visibility is ginormous!
I'm thinking about unloading stuff on ebay that I have not been able to sell here.
Question - as I am setting up my seller's account, it is asking for my bank account #. I don't want to give that.
I want to be paid via paypal, so want to give that instead. Am I mis-understanding and ebay asking for my bank Account # allows me to enter my paypal account #?
I have not clicked through yet..
Thanks!
Just bring the stuff to West Los Angeles and I will get rid of the cameras for you.
First, your checking info is printed on every check you write. It's not exactly a secret.
Second, both PayPal and eBay historically have had a pretty good security record. The only issue I have with both of them is that there's no way to block them out, i.e. a fraudulent buyer can request money back for no reason and there's nothing you can do to stop them from taking the money from your bank.
And finally, it's much easier to control this on a banking side.
Just get a separate checking account without overdraft protection. Strictly for trading.
I'll offer the alternate interpretation. Charging a listing fee may keep some of the clowns from listing things at absurd prices, month after month. As an example, the dipwad with the $100 Fuji film (see the previous post).the ads WILL end, and you WILL pay eBay another fee for the luxury of them relisting it automatically for you.
I've been buying and selling on Ebay since 1997, with good success. But recently they have changed their policies, and I've had my first bad experience with them.
I'm now looking for alternatives.
Well, I just posed that Minolta that I am also selling here, on ebay. It sold next to immediately, for $20 more than I was asking here, w the ebay fees already taken into account.
Hmm, guess I will be using ebay. The one advantage that ebay has is basically you don't deal w tyre kickers. I've had so many people on regular classified (here, other sites, craigslist etc) where people just send questions, ask about the weather, what's for dinner.... but no sale.
To be fair, it is great when you sell 'locally', but sometimes that is not possible.
