I would have bought it but the thing was a Pickup! They gave it away by not having a shipping option. It really narrows down the market. Too bad I would have paid a whole lot more than $88.50. From the looks I would have gone to $880.50. No kidding I saw it and it had a 210 G, good grief.
Curt,
I saw that too and damn near cried as I only live a few hours away, as well as having another 8x10 elwood in need of some work, and a devere 1010 horizontal (wife said no, regardless of what lens it had on it)
Here is another interesting one: #190072589178 for anyone near MA who could pick it up (shipping is offered, but will add a lot to the price). While it is listed as a 9X9, the Chromega F head is for 8X10, so likely an 8X10 negative carrier could be adapted. Anyone wanting to do VC paper might be able to make this thing work.
You don't tell the wife! When she asks "Where did this ( )* Come from?" You look at her in horror and whisper " Back away slowly, I think they are breding."
A lot of larger equipment goes for cheap due to shipping problems. People just don't have the time, or want to go to the trouble, of crating up heavy equipment and then dealing with a shipping company. Something like this may have needed to go freight...
i just picked up a de vere 5108 with the neg carrier, light and all the cords and timer....AND he threw in a 16x20 easel! i picked it all up in NYC for $200! oh! and it has a 240 rodagon f5.6!
Eddie, the only word that comes to mind is "b@#$%%#d", seriously, I'd pay more than that just for the lens, the only lens I have that reliably covers 8x10 is a 360 componon that does double duty as a taking lens, with a front mounted packard.
