I've worked on a number of F's so I know how to get them apart, repaired and reassembled. An F2 bears some similiarities I suppose, but have no desire to strip one down. Is there an easy fix on getting this self timer lever straighened back up without having to get into the camera too far? The timer mechanism itself seems turned around. some. The lever itself is actually fitting on its shaft correctly. The camera doesn't look like it's ever been dropped, and I see no evidence anyone has been in it. In fact, everything about it checks out perfect. The shutter is nearly dead-on the money. All I want is to get this timer leaver situation straightened up so I can give it back to the guy. Thank you.

Does the white notch stop short of the 10 second mark when fully cocked? Beats me. I have several F2s haven't seen this.

The lever goes to the 10 sec mark just as it should. And the little button trips it correctly. but as it winds down, it ends up as you see in the photo. I was hoping for a simple way to "cock the mechanism' around till the lever points up.. If it had been dropped and hit on that lever, it would show signs of some kind of damage. And examining the various fasteners with a magnifier lead me to believe the camera had never been serviced.

From what I can see, your camera looks like a beauty. I don't have any pictures to share but Mike shows it here; self timer comes out without taking the front off. Scroll up to about 16 min. May be of some help.

I'm curious as to what you find!
