Thanks for posting this for me David. I've been travelling like crazy for a while and it would be really nice to meet up with some normal people for a while and chat. And it's a great excuse to catch up a bit more with my printing backlog

Just an update. Ian Leake has confirmed that he would like to attend the cambridge meet up. He is going to bring along some of his beautiful platinum prints and talk a bit about the platinum workshops that he might be doing in the near future. I for one have been looking forward to seeing his work. At the moment the Saturday 25th August is looking the most popular option.

Judging by the responses i would say that either the 8th-9th September is now more viable as the majority can make it on either of these dates.

Probably Saturday 8th September is best if thats ok with you guys. If you could email me to confirm that you would like to come i can email you a map with directions to my house. (davidchow2002@hotmail.com)

Ian if you need a lift from the station i can pick you up on this date too, that goes for anyone else coming from London i have space in the car for 4, the train from Kings Cross goes every 30mins to Cambridge and usually takes 45mins.

Do you have any dates or location in mind Tom?

No specific dates Gary, perhaps sometime after the September 8th gathering. Location, well, that would depend on what people want to do, e.g. shooting, demos, discussion, print showing etc. I'm also happy to have hybrid discussions, print showings etc.

I'm not so interested in photographing in a large group.

Tom.

The 8th is good with me. What time and how long will people be around. Have dogs and wife to consider.... ;-)

The 8th is for Dave's extended open studio exhibition which runs annually I believe. Give Dave an email (mentioned above) to arrange times for the mini East Anglia APUG event.

We have still to get something concrete for the 'main' meet up.

Hi all i expect the Cambridge meet to be rather informal, a gathering to meet other members using either traditional or hybrid forms of photography.
A chance to view other peoples work, as mentioned earlier Ian Leake will be there to show some of his recent platinum prints and talk a bit about the workshops that he has proposed to do in the near future. Lunch will be at mine fo those that want it, should be a large shepards pie  Stay for as long or as short a time as you like. Oh.. and i love photography books so it would be nice if those coming could bring a couple of their favorites, you all can browse through my mini library of photographic titles. If any of you guys want to do anything else then please mention it.

Proposed time to meet at mine is at 12:30 on Saturday 8th September if thats ok with everyone.

I have just sent an email out to all those that expressed an interest in the Cambridge meet up. If you did not get the email please post your email address and I will get one off to you.

David

May be better to use the PM facility David, not everyone wants to advertise their email address.

I took a few hours out of the schedule to meet up with some like minded photogs (APUGgers of course) over the weekend. Thanks Dave (Davec101) for the great hospitality, food, drink and good company. I could have chatted on for hours as we only just got started and would have loved to have had more time with the group. I do believe there is the foundations of a strong Alt Proc group in the making here and would love to work towards that.

The quality level of work on show was exceptional and very inspirational. Strong motivation indeed! Now I REALLY need to get back into the dark room.

So to Ian, Tom, Garry and Dave a big thanks from me.

Cheers

It was a pleasure to meet you all, as phil has already said the standard of work was exceptional and there is the good foundations for 'alt proc group'. I very much look forward to meeting you all again at another venue or even back at my place again in the future months.

I had an inspirational day too. Thanks everyone for sharing your work and opinions, and thanks especially to David for generously hosting us.

Ian.

Hi Guys - I really enjoyed the get together, all of the images and prints you showed were great. Most were truly inspirational.

Thanks everyone especially Dace C for hosting the day - the Cyanotypes were cool too.

Age and name dropping...

No problem Phil, I am assured daily by my dearly beloved that senility is rushing on ever faster - in my case that is!
