ive just developed my first lot of epp 4x5 using tetenal kit following tetenals recommended times in a jobo cpp at 38.5 deg.

i used 270mm of solution to do 4 sheets of film

i have an image and the colours look right but i have to hold the film up to the light to see the image it looks to me as if the emulsion has not completely cleared i suspect that the amount of solution i used is not enough and has exhausted is this a reasonable assumption if so how much solution do i need?

i cant see any thing in the tetenal booklet that says how much solution is needed am i missing some thing?

Stick one in some bleach fix, see if it clears.

When I did my own 5x4 E6 I used a Jobo 2000 tank (inversion tank) and 1 litre of chemicals per 6 heets. It is possible that you aren't using enough chemistry.

Many times when developing sheet film I have put it in a 4x35mm tank emulsion side in, base side out. The chemistry doesn't reach the base side. That means that the "anti-halation" layer doesn't clear, resulting in a yellowish mottled cast. Bleach and fix them in a tray and see if that clears the layer from the back. It's hard to botch the E6 process as long as the chemistry isn't completely gone.
