Hi, I have got a Durst Safil safelight. It has a side wheel with 5 color settings, including a white light, red light, orange light green light and a brown marker. The brown marker comes out dim dark green light. Is this normal or someone has changed the filter? I do not have the manual and I am not familiar the darkroom light. Do the spectum of these filters same match those recommended by major paper and film suppliers. Can anyone enlighten me of the application of these different filters? Thanks

In general, red would be for ortho materials, and some papers, orange for enlarging papers, not sure about the light green, and the dark green for developing panchromatic films by inspection - most likely.
Ilford and Kodak publish spectrum numbers for their materials, but comparing the numbers would assume you could find the specifications for the safelight. In any case, depending on the age, the filters may have changed, so the only way to really know is to test it.
