My RCP20 cannot get past the first bath and is jamming. I have had a really hard time getting it resolved. I have tried to replace the silver pieces. The pathway for whatever reason cannot work itself out.

Do the rollers turn correctly without paper? Drive motor turning?

everything appears to be moving correctly. For whatever reason it gets stuck. The plastic pieces may be in wrong spot not sure. Feels like I have tried every variation in order to work out the issue.

I have fiddled with the black plastic pieces, they're marked D for developer and S for stop (I assume).

Is it possible that a set screw or something similar is loose? Are both racks not running smooth? Not sure. These machines are 45 years old, still seem extremely reliable

Do the racks still run, or are the jammed and clunking badly as gears are being skipped?

The most common cause on RCP20's for actual jams is badly corroded rollers, which makes the rubber lining explode. Start by inspecting the rollers (all of them!), especially on the developer rack. There's a couple of versions of these machines and some of the rollers are less/not prone to this problem. The earlier ones are, and they ALL are affected sooner or later.
