Recently I aquired a Durst RCP 20 and ss the owner of the film foundation on Facebook ... I wanted to help out other people and make video's about darkroom equipment etc. I'm just trying to give information about what I know and what I've learned and discovered myself.

Wanted it to share it with you guys. Still setting up my new darkroom in my room and trying to make better video's in the future! Hope you enjoy.

Many thanks for that, quite a few people are picking these units up and using them for B&W paper. I had one well over 35 years ago and used it for colour, when the RA4 colour process came out I purchased a Durst Printo, which I still have, although I do B&W with it these days.

I await your next clip about speeding up the processor, they really are slow in comparison to RA4 and standard B&W processing. With my Durst Printo I process B&W paper at the RA4 time, which is 45 seconds in the developer and 45 seconds in the fixer at 31ºC +- 1ºC.

I can also tell you that within reason, processing colour paper works very well without a pump. My pump died and I had a reasonably big print job and used my RCP20 for about a month before parts were available, the difference between with pump and without pump were minimal to not being noticeable with a fresh bath, but certainly noticeable with the bath about 75% used.

Regardless, good to see people doing what they can to keep these now quite old processing machines running.

Do you have an RC paper dryer? Having one of those is like being in Heaven.

Mick.

Thanks for the kind comment and useful information. I don't own a dryer yet!

Hi,
I have acquired a Durst RCP 20, however the three red coupling sleeves (Kupplungsmuffe) and the plastic locking crest (Arretierkamm) are missing. Where and how can find them?
I'll be more than happy if I can solve this deficiency..
Thanks !
