Hello,

I recently received a Durst M605 kit from a seller and noticed the bulb was darkened (likely blown), so I ordered a replacement. I installed a new Osram 100W 12V EFP 64627 bulb, but unfortunately, the light still doesn’t come on.

Here’s how I’ve set it up:

• The Durst M605 CLS color head is connected to a TRA 305N transformer.
• The transformer is plugged into a surge-protected power strip.
• The power strip is connected to a 220–240V wall outlet.

The transformer hums quietly, so I assume it’s functioning. I also checked the fuse in the transformer, it looks clear and like new. Is there any chance the fuse orientation matters when placing it into the holder?

Additionally, I’ve attached an image where I marked in red the holes I used to connect the bulb pins. Could someone confirm if I’ve inserted the bulb into the correct socket holes?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

Measure the voltage across the pins on the bulb socket. If you dont measure a voltage there, measure on the connector of the TRA305 power supply. Measure continuity on the bulb.

Thanks for the advice! I just tried removing and reinserting the bulb with a bit more pressure, and now it works. It seems the issue was with the contacts, I’m not sure why it didn’t work the first time, but it’s all good now. I really appreciate your help, and if I run into trouble again, I’ll definitely follow your suggestions.

Ok, great to hear. The contacts on the bulb socket are likely corroded. If it works OK now, I'd just leave it alone. If you experience any more problems, replace the actual bulb socket.

Yes, I’m really happy it’s working now, I honestly thought it might be something more serious. I’ll leave the bulb as it is until it reaches the end of its lifespan, and your suggestion to keep an eye on the socket makes perfect sense. Thanks again! It’s great to see helpful people like you in this forum.
