Durst Laborator L1200 Enlarger with CLS 501 Color Head & Extras - near MINT

$990.00 – Pick Up only in Arlington, Virginia (Washington, D.C. metro area). PayPal or cash. Will assist in dismantling for transport.

The only flaw or imperfection is a tiny, narrow 1/4” long dent on the top left rear surface of the baseboard.

The Rolls-Royce of 4X5 enlargers for the discerning professional photographer. Considered to be the finest enlarger ever made. Fully equipped to print film sizes 35 mm, 6 X 7 cm, 6 X 9 cm and 4 X 5 inches. Stepless density control over a range of two f-stops. Used with TLC in private home darkroom from 1998 until 2007 – when problems procuring Ilfochrome media and chemistry necessitated a switch to Epson. Stored covered in conditioned space since then and fully operational with smooth controls. Finally willing to part with this mechanical masterpiece because my wife and I will be relocating to another city in mid-September.

INLUDED:

2 x extra 24 volt 250 watt lamps, red filter and holder and Durst Transformer / Voltage Stabilizer EST 500 A

FEMONEG AM Carrier with clear glass (bottom) and anti-Newton glass (top)
spare FEMOGLA AN (anti-Newton glass)

Mixing Boxes:
FEMOBOX 35 N
FEMOBOX 69 N (with dif 1 & dif 2)
FEMOBOX 450 N

LAPLA 50 (100 mm to 150 mm lenses with M 50 screw thread)

In addition to the pair of stock 35 mm FEMOMASK AM 35 masks, an extra 35 mm mask bottom plate is included which has been modified with a homemade jig to accommodate 35mm transparencies in 2” x 2” Wess or Gepe mounts (see photo, mounted in carrier). Components are stainless steel and brass, blackened to eliminate reflections. The pin plunger on the rear side holds the mounts under light spring tension, while the lever on the front side is used to lift the mount for removal. These added parts can be removed if desired.

Discontinued by Durst Phototechnik AG in late 2006 but still available new from DurstPro at $5,749.00 (with FEMOBOX 450 & 35). Users Manual can be downloaded at www.durst-pro-usa.com, and parts and accessories are still available from that source and on eBay.

Uses standard ELC quartz halogen bulbs, not a Durst exotic. A Great Enlarger that looks to be in immaculate shape!

Wow!
If only closer, gotta be a killer drive from ATL to VA, sigh...

I did it two months ago to get my DeVere all the way from New Orleans. Slept in Atlanta on the way back. Only 8 or so hours......L

Durst Laborator 1200

Having received no offers during the past week I have listed this enlarger (along with several other items) on eBay. There's a reserve, and the 10-day Durst Laborator 1200 auction will end on Thursday, September 3 at 9:30 PM EDT.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/131587884992?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

When I purchased this enlarger in late November 1997 it shipped via LTL motor freight from a Durst warehouse in Branchburg, NJ to my home in Arlington, VA at a cost of $90.00. I could only guess what this would cost today. The quadruple wall corrugated carton (long gone) was the size of a refrigerator and weighed 153 pounds.

In both my original August 19th classified here and on eBay this item is advertised only for local pick up. I can dismantle the unit and package it in 3 or 4 separate cartons (baseboard, column, color head & accessories) – all of which can ship UPS or FedEx ground. I don't have the time to do this now because I'm immersed in selling a home, buying a new home and preparing to move (to Front Royal, VA) on about September 17th. If the enlarger hasn't sold by then I'll move it, package it for UPS / FedEx and relist it here on October 15, 2015.
