Hi,
I have been lucky to snatch up a negative carrier base plate together with a complete set of masking blades for my worn L138 including the two shafts and all the necessary small parts. Removal of the base plate was easy (just remove the four slotted screws in the corner) and gives good access to the blades and the shafts that drive them. Now I would like to replace the shafts but cannot figure out just how to remove them. Anyone done this and can point me in the right direction?
Thanks,
John

Okay, just figured it out ... Pull ... pull ... pull for your life ... :-D

edit: before pulling for your life, make sure you have loosened the tiny set screws hidden in the small holes just next to the threaded holes where the screws of the carrier base plate go.

And remember that you have to square up the new blades when you install them.
