I recently bought a DURST L1000 B&W 5 x 4 to 35mm Enlarger and wondered if there was any way of cooling the lamp house as it was really warm only after a few minutes of using it.

Also any suggestions on how to stop the light leakage around the negative carrier and the back of the lamp house without causing it to overheat etc.

The bulb it has in it is a phillips photoscenta 240v 150w

You could try using a smaller bulb -- I've found that 75w is sufficient for smaller formats.

There's also a port on the side of the enlarger head for hooking up a blower fan, but I've never used one of these myself.

Cheers,
