Greetings from Canada!

I'm returning to analog after several decades, I'm setting up a home darkroom with limited funds. My plan is to shoot primarily 6x6 and 6x9.

A friend gave me a rather grimy Durst 609 with Daneg negative carrier, which looks to me to be useful primarily for 35mm negatives. Pics attached.

Can someone please confirm what you use as a carrier for medium format in a Durst 609? Would a carrier from another Durst 600 model (m600, m601, m605 etc) work? These are currently available on ebay.

Any advice appreciated, can't wait to get printing!

Welcome to Photrio and welcome back to darkroom printing!
The carrier from a 600, 601 or 605 will in any case definitely not work for 6x9cm because those enlargers go up to 6x6cm. Whether the carrier from a 605 would fit - I doubt it; it does look different in any case. On occasion I have fashioned negative carriers out of spare bits of MDF and/or 3D printed parts.

Welcome to Photrio.
It is good to see more people from the middle of the country.
At least one moderator, @Andrew O'Neill , is probably happy as well

Welcome! Yes, very happy to see a fellow Saskatonian here! Born and raised there (College Park, Evan Hardy Collegiate)

Thanks @koraks for the advice. I will save my $$ and make something myself: would rather spend of film anyways!

Bishop Mahoney grad myself: they had an excellent darkroom!

That school wasn't around in my day, in fact, that whole area was just fields... kind of like when we first moved to College Park in '70. I do miss the prairies, though. I try to get out there every few years. I find it quite inspiring. Cheers!

WRT a negative carrier for 6x9, the manual calls for an "ADANG" or "ADANEV 609". Mine has an "ADANEV 72", which works well and might be the same thing. IIRC, the SETONEG from the M700/M800 will also fit, but looks a little out of place (the masks and glasses are definitely interchangeable).
