I have two Durst 5x7 enlargers. I'm giving up color printing so I'm selling one of these. It is for sale with its original condenser head, though I had been using it with a rigged up ZBE 4x5 color head (not included).
The Durst 138 is an excellent enlarger for 35mm up to 57 negatives. It is very solid, easily aligned, and allows big enlargements since the base board drops almost all the way to the floor. It can also rotate the head for horizontal projection if you want to do murals.
Durst 138 floor standing condenser enlarger:
- New bellows
- Three lens turret is built in
- Set of Durst condensers in good condition:
- 1 x 85mm
- 1 x 130mm
- 1 x 200mm
- 2 x 240mm
- Vacuum to cool the chamber if you are using over a 250watt bulb. I have never used this, but I believe it works (came with my other 138S).
- ph/303 bulb (500watt bulb that works for 5x7)
- Set of wheels if you want to use it on a track for horizontal projection.
No negative carrier is included. There are new design carriers from Durst Pro on ebay, and Nega 138 carriers show up occasionally.
When I bought it there were a few missing pieces that I have replaced. I believe it is now complete. It has also recently been cleaned and lubricated according to the manuals.
Everything works very well, but it is a used enlarger. I know the focus gears have a little slack in them, but it doesn't hinder your ability to finely focus.
Easily breaks down for transport. I fit the other one in my Subaru with a huge amount of other darkroom stuff. Should fit in most cars.
I do not wish to ship this as it will probably require freight transport (that's how it got to me). It's available to pickup/look at in Amherst, NH (about an hour from Boston).
$900
I also have a selection of Durst lens boards and some lenses I am willing to sell along with the enlarger if the buyer is interested.
