Hi all--
Has anyone here come up with a decent use for dupe film other than making dupes? I was given a couple of boxes of expired 4x5 chrome dupe film (Kodak & Agfa) and so far have only done one shot with a pinhole with marginal results. I'll probably come up with something to try, but I figured maybe someone out there has a cool idea or something.
Adios,
Matt
i believe that dupe film as an ASA of 6 or 12 or something slow like that, and it's going to be pretty low contrast.
best bet would be to shoot a fairly contrasty scene at ASA 6, 12, 25, 50, and see what you get. the low contrast of the film may give a pleasing rendition of a scene that might normally blow out on regular slide film.
Very limited use slow, low contrast, poor D-Max and needs filters to color balance each emulsion batch. Ithink that marginal is about the best that you can hope for.
Are any color neg dupe films still made?
My school has a film recorder and I'd love to use it to print certain things in the darkroom that would otherwise be unprintable traditionally (Chromes, fucked up negs, digital files).
