Dunco Model II 67 CVC

Hi all,

I am new to the forum. So hello to everyone!

I have recently started getting back into photography again, after not really touching it for about 10 years. I used to do a lot with my Dad when I was a kid. But anyway. I am able to develop film at home. I would really like to be able to develop my own prints again.

To that end, I have been looking for an enlarger and came across an awesome deal on the above mentioned model. A little research shows that it is supposed to be a very good machine. It has recently had a new power supply, and a few new knobs, so I am thinking it is probably in very good condition.

I only shoot 35mm and in black and white, though I would like to have a go with colour at some point. I believe that this will do colour.

Doeas anyone have any experience with this enlarger, that they can share with me? As I said, the price is exceptional (think around the 50 US$ mark)

Yes, it will do colour. That range employs, in contrast to other manufacturers, not the exchange of complete heads but the insertion of different filter modules. The version you are offered employs a hybrid filter module that has filters/settings vor B&W variable contrast as for subtractive colour. For the different film sizes different mixing boxes and filmholders are offered.

Dunco is still alive.

I have a Dunco Modell-II 66 CVC. Very similar to the one you have been offered. I am very pleased with it. The filter module is very convenient, offering both multigrade and colour filters in one package. The price, is as you say, very good, so I don't think you can go wrong. That Dunco is still making enlargers is an obvious plus, with regard to repairs, parts, etc.

Thanks everyone for the advice! In the end I got a deal on a full darkroom lab. Axomat 4 and an Axomat 5, with trays, timers, thermometers etc. Great deal. But I only need one enlarger... So which do I keep? That is a question for another thread though

Initial experimentation with the Axomat 4 last night went very well!
