I hollered out loud when I saw some of the B&W photos I helped shoot on my 8x10 dry plates in the new Martin Scorsese movie trailer. So exciting!

Look for the B&W images near the end of the trailer. The photographer was Stephen Berkman (shot the wet plate in Wonder Woman), with me assisting and developing the dry plates on set. Shot something like 140 8x10 ASA 25 dry plates for the set of stills.

I had to stop start the trailer to see the 4 (?) plates, they look really good.

IIRC they show two. Lily Gladstone’s close-up is from the four women plate, and the man and woman shown after him were from the same plate. The latter was shot in a fully-decked out 1920s era photographic studio used as a set for a movie scene. It was glorious. Rodrigo Pietro was very excited about what we were doing.

Jason, any news on dry plate production happening this year?

They’ll be back for sure.

I’ve been deliberately slow getting back up and running, as we are settling in and the demands of my job have kept me exhausted. However, I’m looking at a couple commercial rental properties and, assuming those pan out, I’ll get everything set up again and start producing.

Cool stuff Jason.

That reminds me, I still have some of your Quarter Plate and 9x12cm Dry plates that I need to shoot.
I think I'll save them for a WW1 living history event in July.

Did you make the dry plates or buy pre-made ones (Zebra, etc?)
