I just tried a couple negatives from the Delta 400 negatives. My software has Unsharp Mask with two settings. Both go up to 100. One is "Intensity" and the other is "Radius". To get a negative to look as sharp as the negative viewed with a 10x loupe I had to slide the Intensity up to 30-40 and the Radius to about 20. Does that sound normal?
I don't know if I'm going to like this scanner or not. It's already scratched three negatives for the full length. I suspect it's due to them being pushed through the scanner.
Maybe I jumped the gun on that. It could have been a small piece(s) of dust on the edge of the Print file negative sleeves and as I pushed or pulled them out, created a scratch. I hope that was it at any rate.
You don't have to do any post processing like sharpness?
I just redid this one with HP-5 using the Plustek scanner. I think it looks better. The scans I've done and uploaded to Flickr never seen as sharp as the file. That nozzle and handle are middle grey(about Zone V) and the body of the blower is deep, bright orange.
