A question about double coating albumen paper. I usually and classically double coat using isopropylic alcohol. Would some minutes in a hot press (without alcohol hardening bath) harden the first coat ? Just wondering before preparing a new batch of paper, I'm going to try on some sheet but was curious.

I just let two sheet in the press, 2 mn at 90°C. Second coating seems OK. Comparing to alcohol hardening, no change of color, yellowing... or so when printing (I can't print them right now to see) ?

Jimmy we are working on the same project today. I took a workshop this summer in which we did not double coat but single coated our paper with good results. I am working at home now and am doing a comparison test on single vs. double coating. I steamed my paper with a steaming iron as I don't have a dry press.
