Dots on Canonet Focus Ring?

So I’ve only had this canonet about xx decades… and I just noticed these little dots next to the “15” and “5” markings. No mention in any of the manuals available online, are they maybe hyperfocal marks? An F8 and be there sort of thing?

I should add the other red sharpie dots are mine (diy dof range) and the lens infinity focus is beyond the little dots…

The dot means yada, yada, yada.

As in:
1.5 meters
2 meters
3 meters
5 meters
yada, yada, yada

It's roughly the 10 meter / 30 feet mark. You can also add a homemade DOF scale by putting a sticker on the body where the focus mark is and drawing a couple of lines on either side of the focus mark.
