I only use paper plates and plastic flatware. Even so, they would photograph similarly... perhaps better. Thanks for the 'reminder' to be cognizant of our common/simple but visually ignored surroundings. When I was young and 'in love' with photography and unencumbered with other issues, I practiced 'seeing' just about every moment of the waking day... even often dreamed it. These days, after many years being out of practice... I just come here to espouse BS.

Just kidding. I told a photographer friend that I could make five good photos anywhere, then proved it by making those photos in a 5'x15' room with just a desk, chair, and overhead lights.

The point of the post was not to be copycats and repeat what has already been done. But to use your power of observation to see possible images all around you. I happened to use this image but it could have easily been a more famous one of a sad tulip in a jar.

Yes, I'm wasteful. Health issues make the simplest of tasks difficult so I try to simplify and make things easier for myself.

While recovering after clot I wasn't able to walk much and far. Just around house. I purchased macro lens and it helped me greatly to have no limits in photography.
I don't have macro lenses anymore, but if I'm not walking far and much for taking pictures (this is how I'm getting them) I print. I still have to catch it up with my 6x9 negatives.

I did a 365 project last year. I managed to find at least one thing every day. It was a worthwhile experiment; it at least it made me stop worrying about getting a 'wall worthy' photo every time and just enjoy shooting regardless of the results.

The forks in the OP remind me of the Spanish photographer Chema Madoz. I love his photos, they are beautifully observed, have a real sense of whimsy and find interest in the mundane. Well worth checking out:

there are usually more things to photograph ... less than 50 foosteps from where someone lives, than he/she realize.
it seems that people are too busy or distracted &c to see what might be right in front of them.

I think it was Brett Weston who said there is nothing worth photographing 10 feet beyond the car

Sometimes it is not subjects that are lacking, but time itself. When I was a stay-at-home-dad to a new set of triplets, time for the 8x10 was lacking. So you do what you can.
