I need to take a picture in the morning, at about 9:30am. At this time, the sun is well up in the sky, so I'm thinking it will be fine. Normally I wouldn't worry but I have a different camera and some of that newfangled color transparency film so I want to make sure I'm getting as close to the 'proper' exposure as possible. Is sunny 16 the same all day or is it more like 15.5 before ten?

My meter has been acting up such that I don't really trust it.

If it works in new mexico it should work here in Texas.

it works all day
i'm up north in RI

you might want to do a test though, with
something not so important before you do
the real thing ...

i have been meterless for a while
(for personal stuff at least )
and like anything, the more you do it the better you get -

good luck!

Ever heard of bracketing your exposure? Provided you have enough film with you, little need to trust a meter.

There's the 'rule' in a nutshell: waste enough film, and you may get something usable.

It can be overcast and bright as well. You didn't mention shutter speed or a tripod and daylight savings is coming to this years end in a few days.
