Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forums, but a long time lurker here. This site has given me countless hours of enjoyment reading all the discussions, so thanks for that!

Anyway, I have a friend visiting Rochester soon, and I was wondering if Kodak sells film there directly to the public anywhere? Like via a company store, gift shop, or some such? If they do, I'd like to get my friend to swing by and pick up a few rolls for me (as it would almost certainly be cheaper than buying it in Canada).

They used to have a company store open to the public. It was at the corner of Ridge and Lake Avs. about 200 ft west on Ridge.

I have heard conflicting stories as to whether it is still open or not.

It is in a building labeled Theater on the Ridge and is located at the back of the building through either pair of doors. There is parking across the street. Security guards in the building can direct your friend or tell them if it is even there.

Thanks for the replies and the welcome! P.E., I'd like to also say that I've immensely enjoyed reading your posts here about how the photographic industry works, as well as those podcasts you did for "Inside Analog Photography". Really illuminating stuff. The "industry news" forum is one I like browsing frequently.

Back to my question, I take it you mean through this building here? https://www.google.ca/maps/place/24...1!3m1!1s0x89d6b6a05a8f91f5:0xa409979b4d8b78cd

I'll see if I can give someone there a call tomorrow and see what they tell me.

Reminds me of the time I was in Toronto and decided to "visit" Kodak. they had a small film store at the visitor center, BUT I wanted a roll of DXN. Guy tells me that "you would have to get that at the warehouse" and directs me up to Brampton.

I drive up and there is a counter where the guys says that no you have to order it...

He gets me on the phone with someone and my 400 ft of DXN and 100FT of 4XN is delivered to my home the following week. (the existence of 4XN gives an idea of how many decades ago that was)
