Does Ilford film have anything like Kodak edge codes that date it?

I know Kodak 35mm film can be traced to a manufacturing year with the edge code:

Is there anything similar for dating Ilford 35mm film? I've got some old negs, and I don't quite remember when I shot them -- I know it was between 1976-1980, but that's about all.

I don't think there was for that period. In recent years I've noticed what appears to be possibly a serial number on Ilford film edges, but how that translates to manufacturing year I've no idea.

Just say circa 1976 -1980 it will sound important.
