does Fraction Magazine live?

jnantz, that link seems to indicate death. Maybe there's a Covid thing.

Do you have a working link?

Works for me.

Works for me.

http://www.fractionmag.com/ ...that link works for me too...but it's a blog... and nothing has been posted since 2019, which would be strange for a site that calls itself a magazine. And it's strange for that blog to have no posts since 2019.

I'm genuinely interested.... Fractionmag is a good name, would be sad if it isn't being cared for.

Got a link that indicates life and that pretends to be more than a blog?

I only noticed the copyright at the bottom. I've always had a problem with RTFM. Does have some wonderful images. More exploring, thanks.

Well, having 2 URLs with different content and no linkage whatsoever to each other has to lead to puzzling people.

Clicking on "about" : Fractionmagazine.com appears to be purely Instagram thang. Run by Droids (assuming not by iOS). Most imagery is phone.

Who is raising money for who?

Everybody's smiling, most are gen Z, almost all are white. Lots of self righteousness.

Instead of posting negative things about an organization you know very little or absolutely nothing about, why don't you email them directly and ask about their publication. LOL. I don't think they will respond to your trolling them here.

I haven't been here long but I figured rather quickly that jtk likes to troll lol.

Who is "they" ? How is asking for info here on Photrio "trolling"..."THEY" seem to be hiding names, corporate connections, and contact info. I began OT with positive interest but now, due to evidence, I'm doubtful.. The blogs piety conflicts with the websites images of it's reality. What is your understanding? Do you have a useful contact link? Why is it hidden?

At the website that jnantz linked to, there is a contact-page.

http://www.fractionmagazine.com/contact

There's this: " For all other correspondence, please use the form below. "

I didn't use that form (I don't casually fill out forms) ... thought it was intended for biz and that it was intended to build an anonymous entity's database .... still wonder why the owners of these sites etc hid their names/connections.

"they" is the handful of people that run fraction magazine.
if you go to the about page you will see all sorts of stuff about "them"
http://www.fractionmagazine.com/about
nothing is hidden, it clearly states everything you are looking for.
the contact page that AgX linked to has email addresses as well as a contact form.

Thanks Jnantz and agx ... The way these pages obscure (surely not by accident) their identities is very unusual, but of course the failure to connect the dotcom address to the dotCO address suggests either incompetence (which seems unlikely given the complexity) or an agenda.

I'll surrender the point, noting that I don't find Instagram either useful or "good for" a photographers marketing or artistic exploration. I have no negative views about Instagram for other peoples' notions of what "photography" means, but I do think Instagram is a misdirecting waste of bandwidth.

Huh?

The page jnantz linked http://www.fractionmagazine.com/about has fairly normal biographies, links to people's websites, etc. The contact form under "contact" is a typical web form - I think a lot of sites use such forms to cut down on spam. I don't know what you are expecting to find. But anyway, turns out one of the listed contributors is someone I went to high school with and didn't know what he was up to, so thanks for posting it.

I don't find many wesites that hide names/contact info via forms to "cut down on spam". That's usually done via a sign-in process, like Photrio's.

Photographers and legit businesses usually link directly to websites and other information. Directly. It's easy to block spam on email...your email provides a tool for that purpose...

I'll let go of that matter and simply say Instagram relies on mediocre snaps, mostly phone. Therefore it's not appealing to me. Have fun.
