Where are you?

Pro Photo Supply in Portland, Ore. used to rent 35mm, medium, and large formats, plus digital.

Maybe they still do.

You can pick up a Mamiya C220 TLR with 80mm lens off Ebay for $200. Additional lenses are not expensive.

There is also Camren Photographic Resources in Denver, but I suspect that wouldn't 't work for you since you're in Miami (they charge by the day so the rental fees would have to be huge given the shipping times - if they were even willing to ship at all).

Read the full post guys. It may of been a edit but he says that he's in Miami!!!

'edit: location is miami florida'

That aside, another vote from me to buy and if need be sell back = bound to be cheaper than any rental you can get, with a much bigger choice - but I'm willing to be told otherwise...

If you are really just trying to stick your toe into mf there are a number of tlr cameras that can be had well under $100. These could give you a sense of what working with a 2 1/4 negative is like and also the characteristics of a tlr. One I own is the Super Ricohflex. Regardless of which way you go, if you decide to buy, you might post either a Want To Buy ad here or ask for pointers on what to look for in a specific make/model. Bill Barber

The one thing that is annoying about KEH is they dont show cameras as complete systems.. you have to search thru their site and piece a system together..

since they upgraded their site, searching n shopping isnt as easy anymore. but you can call them to ask for assistance n they will send you links upon request to what you are looking for.

but otherwise, keh is about the most trusted used camera source.

Not much different than the c330?

Not much. The C220 is a little less expensive. It's also a little lighter in weight. The C330 has more features if you need them. I don't so I own the C220f for the lighter weight because I have a bad back. The f is a later version and has a brighter groundglass. It runs a little more money too and is not built quite as well as the C220

The biggest difference is that the C330 mechanism cocks the shutter on the lens automatically when you wind the film (for all but the 250mm lens).
With the C220, you have to manually cock the shutter for each shot.
