I mean tripod dolly; the three wheel support that a tripod sits on and moves around on the floor or ground. There you are on level ground, you set up the tripod and mount the big heavy camera on top, put the lens on, get out the lens shade and put the focus cloth on and then take a look. I guess it needs to be moved over ten feet. Then you have to pick it up and move it or break it down and repeat the setup.
I was giving some thought about using a tripod dolly, of the right kind, for those situations where I'm doing some level ground work with my heavy large format camera. I had a back injury that is permanent and pushing sixty so anything that would help is welcomed. Obviously there are situations where this isn't going to be a practical application but where it is it could be very advantageous. Any thoughts, what do you think about using tripod dollies?
