Referring to you initial sentence of proclamation, or whatever, Doc - Why not? That's exactly how it was done for a long long time. And that's how some people still do it. There a major museum down the street where the crown jewels are a collection of "street" and documentary
shots taken with large format gear.

Good point, Drew. You are quite right. I have done my own "street" photography with a 4x5, and that was also the format of an awful lot of important news photography. Howevber, given the portability of cameras now, a Speed Graphic (for example), would not be the first choice of most. I guess I had the OP and his style in mind.
