I am looking for the little washer that goes around the post of the take up winder on top. I have an F that works great except for it binds up on winding because that one tiny washer is missing. I have tried to find a suitable replacement at the hardware store, but with no success. If you have a parts camera and can spare that washer, please let me know. I am willing to pay a reasonable amount.

Or if you have an idea for a workaround, that would be great, too.

Thanks, Shutterfinger. You are always a lifesaver.

You won't find them at a hardware store.

Get as close to the OD as possible, ID can be enlarged if necessary and thickness can be dressed down with a smooth cut file.

Shutterfinger, thank you so much for all the help. I ordered the caliper you linked to, and measured the washer. But a lot of the listings on that hardware site you linked do not give dimensions. I am guessing M3 means the inside (hole) diameter is 3mm, but I am not sure. Many of the listings just say M3 or M5, etc., but do not provide OD. Do you use any other hardware sites that might have all the dimensions listed?

The washer I need is 5.5mm OD, 3.5mm hole diameter, and 1mm thick.

An M3 washer fits an M3mm bolt (3 mm dia). should work fine for what you need.

Thanks, beemermark, but the outside diameter is important because the washer sets down in an indentation. If it is too wide, it will not fit. Unless I am misunderstanding something...

All metric stuff is normalized.

DIN 125 A - M3 ring
Inside diameter 3,2mm
Outside diameter 7,0mm
Thickness 0,5mm

These sizes are not exact, they have tolerances.
What @shutterfinger says, file it to the correct dimensions.

Other sizes:

This is the shop where I get my RVS hardware. Only in Dutch though.
Thanks Billy - is there an online site that shows the standards for the different outside diameters?

I checked, the standardized OD for an M3 washer is 7mm. I think almost any parts camera will have a washer that you can use.
