Do 62mm Extension Tube's Exist?

Hi all,

I recently acquired a Wollensak Verito 8 3/4” lens and I am interested in experimenting with playing around with the focal distances. The front lens removes and the threading for the front lens is at 62mm. Does anyone here know where I could acquire a 62mm extension tube? This would allow me to have the lens pushed further out from the camera and so I could focus in closer to the subject.

I don't know much about that lens, but would it be simpler to leave the lens intact and just get a "top hat lens board"?

Ah I hadn't known of top hat lens boards before, thank you! Now, I have to figure out where such boards exist and are compatible with fitting into my Graflex RB Series D 4x5 camera
 
Oh I suppose I could extend the lens out further by getting a 65mm-65mm extension tube to attach to the lens board that has a copal #3 shutter on it. Then I could attach the lens onto the extension tube. Would this work, anyone know?
 
You really need to keep the front and rear lens elements the correct distance apart from each other or they won’t perform properly.

I quickly searched “graflex top hat lens board” and found a listing on etsy that makes something like what you’re looking for but I don’t know if they make one that is compatible with your camera. You would have to measure your lens board and shutter to make sure.

If that doesn’t work there are places online that make custom lens boards. There are several but the only one I can think of is s. k. grimes. Maybe one of them will make you something.

If neither of those works you could talk to your nearest camera repair shop. Many of them have machining setups that would allow them to make what you need.

If not a camera shop then a machine shop could also do it.
 

Ahh gotcha. I will reach out to S.K Grimes to see if he can make me a top hat lens board!
 
You could also try a close-up lens on the front threads.
 
Before buying anything, you should figure out how close you can get now, and then figure out how close you want to get. THEN we can advise you as to your options.
