DIY Light Box

Have any of you seen this?!? They've taken an old LCD monitor, removed the LCD panel exposing just the backlight, and turned it into a portable light box.

I do think I see a project in my future!

thats an interesting use for an old computer.

ive been using my working tablet as a light box. i open my text editor to a blank page so my screen is all white.

Heh, with my luck lately, if my laptop died it would be the display backlighting that failed! :confused:

Unless you already have a candidate computer carcass, art supply chains like Blick's sell LED light tablets at about $115 or $120 for a 9x12 inch and you don't have to do any work (and all the parts are new).
