Finally got my Instax 200/Century Graphic project to a nice, working condition.

Basically I cut up the Instax 200, attached it to a 6x9 film pack adapter and rewired to a manually operated switch. It's not pretty, but it works. Not bad for a 4$ instax 200 that I got from a local repairman.

Main reason to use instax wide is that here in the Philippines, it's the only large sized instant film available. It's ISO800 but has low resolution (10 lp/mm according to the manual). Actual image size is 99x62mm. I like how it renders an image that looks like traditional color film. The aspect ratio is a little bit wider than the 3:2 of 135 film, giving images a more cinematic look.

If you're wondering why it's upside down, well, if I put it in the upright orientation, the body blocks the Kalart rangefinder.

I also had to move the plane of focus farther back due to the adapter, and used a modified instax film pack as a ground glass to recheck focus. The lens I used for testing was a 105mm 3.5 from a Mamiya TLR; coverage seems full and not clipped due to the body and new plane. Test shot was scale focused and exposure was guestimated. Will post more pictures once I get to test it properly.

Why did you have to go manual switch?

Looks great for a first build...are you planning another to streamline it or keep this one?

the switch on the instax cameras controls both the focus motor and the print rollers, so it made more sense to simply bypass it. I don't have much experience tracing complicated circuits so I just looked for the one for the rollers.

As for the camera, I'd like to think of this one as a prototype/feasibility test. I'm planning to make a better one after seeing some people do conversions for Polaroid 110 and Graflex SLR cameras.
