Finally got my Instax 200/Century Graphic project to a nice, working condition.
Basically I cut up the Instax 200, attached it to a 6x9 film pack adapter and rewired to a manually operated switch. It's not pretty, but it works. Not bad for a 4$ instax 200 that I got from a local repairman.
Main reason to use instax wide is that here in the Philippines, it's the only large sized instant film available. It's ISO800 but has low resolution (10 lp/mm according to the manual). Actual image size is 99x62mm. I like how it renders an image that looks like traditional color film. The aspect ratio is a little bit wider than the 3:2 of 135 film, giving images a more cinematic look.
If you're wondering why it's upside down, well, if I put it in the upright orientation, the body blocks the Kalart rangefinder.
I also had to move the plane of focus farther back due to the adapter, and used a modified instax film pack as a ground glass to recheck focus. The lens I used for testing was a 105mm 3.5 from a Mamiya TLR; coverage seems full and not clipped due to the body and new plane. Test shot was scale focused and exposure was guestimated. Will post more pictures once I get to test it properly.
