Ok, so...more about it: our initial plan involved shooting wet plate collodion in it, but for some reason (still to be determined) things didn't work out very well and we didn't get good results. We'll try this again sometime and we're also planning on shooting big glass gelatin negatives.

Is there anything in particular you'd like to know?

I'm also thinking of building a portable version of this. I haven't started looking into it yet, but I guess the shutter will be the hardest part and I still don't know how I'm going to do it. I'd like to be able to select different shutter speeds (and having fast shutter speeds) instead of doing it by hand like we did here but I have no idea of how I can do that -- other than buying a large format shutter. So I definitely need to do some research here and any help is much appreciated.

About your questions:

1. What do you mean, a show? Like an exhibition? I don't know if that's what you meant, but we're actually considering this option. This camera started as a College project so we're gonna try have some of the portraits exhibited there. And then, who knows...if someone is interested, why not?

2. The camera is still there at this point. And we're going to keep it for another month or so. After that, we'll have to tear it down, sadly.
Ideally, we would like to keep it for a long time but we'd have to find a suitable place for it -- it's currently in my friend's bedroom so it can't stay there forever.

Yes. I think you work deserves an exhibition. You've shown creativity with your photography and creating work without fancy equipment.

I wish you can live with your camera. Your friend is very generous allowing such an intrusive project in a living space. Ah the sacrifices we make for art.

We will definitely work on that and if we succeed, I will announce it here. Fingers crossed

And yes, my friend is awesome for letting us do the camera in her room. It's a huge sacrifice and I'm very thankful to her. I wouldn't mind doing it on mine either, but my room doesn't have a balcony so it would be impossible to do it there.
