I would like to try divided D76, but am not sure what the difference is between the various formulas out there.

I found this page, which lists several variants:

http://www.jackspcs.com/dd76v.htm

Can someone share their insight on these?

One criteria I am looking for is obtaining the maximum speed from this type developer. I'm currently using Barry Thornton's 2-Bath, but have heard that DD76 may get me a boost in speed. Not much, but every little counts.

thanks,

HL

I believe that many interested in divided developers are
more interested in the method than in the compensatation
they offer.

I was very interested in divided developers myself at one
time but have decided that a single bath developer which
offers very good compensation is more convenient and
reliable.

Metol or, I suspect, phenidone only based developers
are your best bet for speed. I was pleasently surprised
at the speed and at same time compensation delivered
by the 8-80 gram, metol-sulfite blend I started using
several months ago. Last night I mixed up a 1-10
gram batch; good for two Acros 120 rolls 500ml
each. An easy mix. Invert three or more times
every other minute; Acros 16 minutes. Dan
