Hi all,
I got an Omega E, a floor stand model, for free. There is only a small obstruction to get out of the way though. I have to disassable it.
I figured out so far that I can get the column of by unscrewing the angle steels used to flange the column to the table. But I don't know how to get the shafts off the bevel gears. When the column is loose the only way to get it off the table is in lifting it straight up.
There are pins through the flanges of the bevel gears which are fit in a way not intended to be removed anymore. So if I had to engeneer such piece of heavy metal, I would make slits in the ends of the shafts which interlock with the pins in the flanges. Unfortunately I am no engeneer. Does anybody know the construction and can confirm my consideration?
I hope my explanation can be understood at all. I am not used to technical english.
