Has anyone used a digital camera to help select negatives for scanning? It's easier to see and select positives on an LCD screen. The negatives can simply be placed on a light table.

Working through big stacks of old negatives of many different sizes and densities I find the need to see the images more quickly. Scanning a whole page of negatives would be OK if densities were fairly even, and still takes too much time.

Has anyone done this? Or does anyone know of a cameras that could do this well? Thanks in advance.

There's your answer - place the film on a light table and loupe it. Just like the good old days.
