Different Strap lugs on Mamiya 645?

I'm shooting a Super model and the lugs on the camera body are two different sizes. One has a smaller diameter post than the other. Is this common or did someone change one of them? I apparently need a type A strap for the body; Is that correct?

its funny that you would mention that...as I think I ran into the same problem. I tripod mount 99% of the time but just a week or so ago, I used the strap and had to take it off and reverse the two clips.

There is something wrong here. I bought a Mamiya 645 outfit for my son and it didn't have a strap so I bought one on eBay that was supposed to be a 645 strap. The metal clips don't fit on all the way. I will have to file out the slots or get another one. I'll file it out, it's easy but what a pain. You expect them to fit when it says it will.

I'm not sure what kind of strap you need, I got mine for Mamiya USA. They were very helpful even though I bought my camera used from KEH. My camera has 2 different sized lugs. The one on the passenger side is smaller. It's the one that fits under the power winder.

I have two Mamiya M645 Super bodies, and one M645 Pro body. I received the proper strap when I bought my first M645 Super. I am amazed how hard it is to locate another strap.

The lugs on the older (pre M645 Super) bodies are different than the lugs on the M645 Super, M645 Pro, or M645 ProTL (or at least one of them is).

In addition, the lugs on the left side are different than the lugs on the right side of the Super/Pro/ProTL bodies.

It is just about impossible to figure out how to order the right lugs for your camera, unless you can deal with Mamiya USA, and they aren't keen on dealing with us Canadians The catalog pages that I have seen from the Canadian distributor or Mamiya USA just don't make it clear how to tell the difference between straps for the older M645s, and the newer Super/Pro/ProTL bodies .

Apparently, there is an Optech (sp?) starp that can be made to work with the Super/Pro/ProTL bodies, but Optech's website says otherwise.

If anyone out there has a set of lugs that will fit my Super or Pro bodies and would like to sell them, I'm interested!

I don't mean to hijack (slightly) this thread, but I have a very closely related question.

Yesterday I bought an M645 1000S and the camera shop was unable to locate a camera strap for the camera. Can anyone tell me if this Optech strap will fit:Optech Pro B

The "A" connector is smaller and slotted for a round lug, the B connector is larger and slotted square at the end. By the time you get done buying the Optech strap and a B lug connector you can buy the Mamiya strap at B&H for $40. Very clever Mamiya.

Is there more than one 45mm lens? I bought a 45mm 'bayonet' lens shade thinking it would fit my 45/2.8 (Sekor-C I think) but it's too small. (lesson to onesself to research before buying...)

Looking at the KEH site Dead Link Removed it would seem that there are at least two different filter sizes: 67mm and 77mm.
