I loaded bulk film roll into my bulk loader and screwed in the thumb screw, but it was set to open, not closed when i took it out of the changing bag. Did i ruin the entire roll of film?

No. At worst you fogged the first or second winding. Further in there may be fogging around the sprocket holes but that should not impinge on the photographs.

You can start breathing again.

It sounds like you have a Watson loader, or similar?
If you had the door where the cassette goes closed, there is likely no damage at all. Otherwise, as Sirius says, you will have some limited fogging in the first or second layer.
