Anyone have any photos taken with this lens? I just found out about this lens from a video off youtube by Alexander Snay...looks interesting. If anyone has any example photos of their own I'd love to see em!
Very interesting. Honestly, I have a Diana clone, and it takes photos that are at least that sharp, and sharper at close to mid distances. The lenses on these cameras are different from one camera to another, cheap, plastic quality variations being what they are. My other Diana F lens is not nearly as sharp, and I have checked the infinity and other distance focuses on both cameras w/a tripod and ground glass on the film plane (as much as I could w/ that tiny aperture). Here's a look at the lens you're interested in and how it mounts on the camera. No info on how to get the old lens off though! You're on your own there it looks like.
The problem with buying what appears to be an improved 3 element design lens is that it will not have the same wacky imaging characteristics of the original single element lens. You're not going to get those neat distortions and aberrations, which is the appeal of these toy cameras. In other words, your photos are going to look like a "normal" camera took them, except for the soft corners. For the same amount of money you could buy a much better built Agfa Isola w/ a better shutter and a sharp 3 element lens that will take photos that rival any good medium format camera, and still be small and light, w/ a much better build quality. I love mine, it makes beautiful photos, but I prefer the shots from my single element Diana clone camera for their unique look.
I agree. Using the Diana glass lens defeats the point of a toy camera (at least in my mind)
As for mounting the Diana+ cameras have an interchangeable lens that just twists off.
Here is the link to the lens on Lomography.com which as some examples.
I wish I could put prints through the computer. I think it is a great lens for the Diana. It still isn't as good as a normal lens on a non toy medium format camera.

I know this isn't going to be as good as a normal camera lens but I just want something a little better than the lens I have now on my Diana F+. It would be cool to have an alternate lens I can switch with for certain things I would like to have sharpness for (ie, portraits or stuff I want to print bigger). I love my Diana F+ as it is I'm just curious about this new 75mm glass lens because I can't find too many examples photos from it. I know the lomo site posts examples but I always think they post lame examples as compared to stuff on Flickr etc.
I have a basic Zeiss Nettar that has a 3 element f6.3 75mm lens and a 3 speed shutter +B, all for $25 at a camera show. That's less than 1/3 the price of a Diana and glass lens bought from B&H Photo. (that would be $85) The Novar lens on the Zeiss will do a better job and can be stopped down to f22.
I'm not really interested in another camera just curious about this Diana f+ lens as an accessory..could be fun just being able to switch lenses on the Diana
