Diafine & Kodak Tmax 100

I have used and enjoyed Diafine for quite a while (my choice in lazy developing if things are shot right), had very nice results with Ilford Delta 100 film. I've been thinking of trying some Kodak Tmax 100 film this winter, mostly because a pro pack is under $ 20 with free shipping from Adorama camera right now.

I wonder if anyone has used this combination and what results they have obtained?

Are you all happy with the film does it have any serious fall backs?

Have lost my darkroom when I got married and moved so I am working out of a bathroom. Even the local public lab closed because the tax levy failed, so This hopefully will be my slow step back and away from pay to play film services.

One of the best Diafine film combination(s) is Tri-X 400 iso 1000-1250. A real speed boost and certainly recommended.

I'll have to try that. It sounds like a good thing. I rarely shoot that high of ASA but could be real fun. We have a very nice museum here but tripods are not allowed so that might make for a nice shoot.

T grain type films are not the best match for Diafine:

The link you provided takes one to a Diafine instruction sheet that explicitly states that it is suitable for all films, and provides speeds and times for TMax films. So where do you find the statement that it is unsuitable for tabular grain films?

Yes, it's an original instruction data sheet for Diafine from the manufacturer (BKA).

That's my opinion after 25 years Diafine use........
but of course not for a commercial company like BKA.

That's why I give the Fotohuis recommendation films for Diafine. It's a pretty low contrast type developer and therefore even suitable for micro film development, like Rollei ATP 1.1 (Advanced Tech Pan) or equivalent other micro films.
