The Df is Nikon's tribute to the F4: it has external controls for all its major functions.
Nikon clearly wanted to appeal to the traditional analog photographer.
The Df even accepts pre-AI lenses!
This would be like Canon introducing today a new camera called the "Fd" which not only uses contemporary EF lenses, but also worked with old FD and FL lenses.
In my opinion, the first one is grossly over-priced for what it is..

Which Canon can't. They can't make a camera that can accept both Fd lenses and EF lenses.
I wouldn't say it was a tribute to the F4, the F4 is considered by pros to be the worst body in the F series.
I don't know where it comes from.Lol, where on earth do people get this stuff?? I put a little over 200,000 frames through one of my F4's before it needed a shutter replacement, one of the best cameras I ever used and my favorite Nikon F series camera.
So my Df is mostly used as a film scanner those days.
Bellows with slide copier attachment is one way.How do you do that?
