DeVere lens panel comparison

A couple of months ago I was having trouble discovering how many varieties of DeVere lens panels are in existence, due to not being able to fit one of type panel in my newer Mk5 DeVere 504. The left hand panel is the newer unit from the Mk5 which fits.

The panels look more similar in the image than they do in reality.

The all black newer panel is slightly smaller and possibly slimmer, with a different gradient to the slopes.

Tom , the smaller mount may be for lets say my 11x14 or for an 8x10, I have had all three 4x5, 8x10 and 11x14 plus the horizontal 10x10 and have all sorts of mounts
they drive me crazy trying to figure out what works with what. Its a bit like rubics cube trying to sort out what flange fits with what ring.

It's not just me then. I've been told that all DeVere circular panel mounts are the same or at least compatible; however my 5108 (beige - probably mk4) with Dichromat colour head and 504 (mk5 - black) with ILFORD MG500 head each have distinctively sized panel receiving mechanisms...

Tom I’ve never seen thie all black one all of mine for my 5108 black, bought new in 1996 are like the one on the right.

I have quite a few De Vere lens boards for my 5108, there are more variations some metal, two are a composite material, one is more like a top hat gives additional extension with a 300mm Componon S.

The paint finish on my only all black one is quite different to the other aluminium boards, which may be anodised. It's likely they evolved over time.

I've been wondering about the outer diameter of the flange on the devere 504(4x5) lensboards, is it 98mm outer diameter, and did they ever make various extensions?
I'm looking to repurpose one
The 98mm would suit my purposes

I'm not sure where you got 98mm from, it's an Imperial diameter 4.5"
